Karma is a Serious and Relentless Teacher, Even in Soccer

Pierson plays an indoor soccer game called Futsal in the off season. During a recent Futsal game I ran into an old friend from Pierson's old club. I heard that Pierson's old team lost nearly every game during this Fall season and are basically in free fall with their trainer trying to recreate game mishaps during practice. Now, a trainer who cares will attend all of the games for a team but after Bill Flere, Pierson's old coach, insulted the skills of the trainer it is no surprise that their trainer does not attend even half of their games. The further irony of trying to recreate game flaws is that the trainer is relying on the coach for an analysis of what went wrong... the same coach who knows precisely nothing. It is really sad for the boys.
So Pierson's old team has been relegated and will be in the same bracket as the 'lower' team that was only established 2 seasons ago. Wow. C2 again, yikes. The really horrible thing is that I spoke with a parent from that team and they blamed it on the boys, i.e., they were like clones of themselves during the games only they were clones that couldn't play soccer. Unbelievable that the parents are still in denial that IT IS THE COACH! It is like the classic political ad; it is the economy stupid, only in this case it is the coach stupid.
We were so lucky to get away from that hotbed of insanity and ill will. Pierson is doing fabulously well and is improving, learning and having fun. Last season when everything bad went down, I couldn't imagine that it was all for the best but it really is. Pierson is doing wonderfully and our family is happy and grateful, despite the temporary pain!
