This morning I woke up early from a dream of zombies attacking a mansion  in Hyde Park that Courtney and I were seeking refuge in. The zombies were ramming the house with a CG&E/Cable truck while I was fumbling for keys to the room that had a gun in it. Staring at the key ring not knowing which key to use I figured it would be easier to wake up than to fight dead people in a big truck.

Light of the morning, scary dream over and it is the day I  look forward to all week. This morning as I laid in bed staring at the tree outside the Friday thoughts start. Friday thoughts consist of mostly soccer.

Last weeks game is history, today we had a match against the New Guy's team. My thoughts wandered about focusing on this teams weaknesses. I know new guy losses control a lot and rarely takes shots, but the team sometimes hires two English guys who act as rabbits, and one of them is faster than me. I keep seeing in my head a play Oliver Twist did on me where he scored against me because I was too slow.  It doesn't matter, I decide, at least they aren't zombies.

I'm pretty sure New Guy in less than one minute into the game stopped playing so hard when he decided to block Todd's first shot on the goal from midfield. He blocked it, but I saw him cry like Tammy Faye after he did.  Todd in game two got more than a "hat trick," this game he got his "cut person into two boxes and put them back together trick," I'm thinking five goals should be called a "David Copperfield." Todd also helped me from the sidelines by calming my play by yelling at me to settle down.  Coach Mike was gracious enough to show me how to cut the ball to the side after running at full speed straight. This little tip the coach graced me with gave me the ammo to duel two people and score a goal. Thanks Coach.

Liza sent the Goalie back to Dicks to look for better apparel with her goal. Like some pants that has a net strung between the two legs, and some better gloves.

Jeff and Jenny owned the full back line. Jeff made some great saves but didn't see too much action because  Jenny, well, the other team made a huge mistake thinking they could run the ball down her side most of the game. Jenny was a wall with suction cups. Jenny shut them down, and made my son who was watching the game fear even more being sent to the principles office.

Joe due to the number of saves he made had only two legitimate goals scored against him,  one other goal that was pure luck, and another he let Sarah have just because he saw Jenny, Jeff and I back off and figured it would be good for her moral so he stepped out of the box and let her score. It is recreational after all, although word on the street is it won't be recreational games if we continue on this path. Next week good luck, I'll be thinking of you guys, hoping someone returns my black eye back to where it came from.
